Agapanthus africanus (L.) Hoffmanns. (syn. Agapanthus umbellatus), blue tuberous,1 African lily or African agapanthus is a species of the subfamily Agapanthoideae of the Amaryllidaceae,2 although, according to the classification system, it can be found included in the family Alliaceae and even Liliaceae.3 It originally comes from South Africa, although it has spread widely due to its use as an ornamental plant.
