Perfect plant for rockeries, flowerbeds and ground covers. It has numerous medicinal properties and its flowers are edible. It can also be grown in pots and as a cut flower. Its flowers are edible when added fresh to salads or cooked as vegetables. Its properties are similar to those of Valerian, i.e. sedative, calming and antispasmodic. With long, lanceolate and shiny green leaves, this 60 cm perennial plant has beautiful carmine-red perfumed flowers. It adapts to all types of well-drained soils. It needs little watering and should be pruned once in bloom.
