It is a small herb with bluish funnel-shaped flowers. The leaves are entire margin and are attenuated in the basal part, the upper ones can embrace the stem at the insertion. In warm, subtropical, tropical climates with light winters, it is a perennial plant, in cold, temperate or heavy snowfall areas it is an annual plant because if the plant is not in a greenhouse or under protection from snowfall it dies due to low temperatures (Approximately 10 °C or less).
