Annual herbs (some rhizomatous), or subshrubs, that can be 10 to 80 cm tall. Usually with erect stems and branched from the base. Its flowering is in midsummer and can last until autumn. It forms dense low bushes. The main bright colors of Gallardia are red, yellow and orange.
