The recommended pre-germinative treatments are:
- Cold stratification 3-6ºC, for 15 days, with or without epicarp.
- Washing 2-3 hours, then warm stratification 22ºC, 2 weeks, then remove carpel and endocarp and cold stratification 2-3ºC, 4 weeks, germination at 20ºC.
- Scarification by removal of the mesocarp, followed by stratification for 60 days at 4 to 6°C (38%). The authors recommend removal of the pericarp, as well as the epi and mesocarp.
- Mechanical scarification and immersion in water at room temperature for 12-24 hours.
