Herbaceous of the umbelliferae, annual that can reach 100 cm. The leaves are very divided into filiform segments, and could be confused with those of fennel. It differs from the latter, despite the lack of smell so characteristic, because the peduncle of the umbels is not so long and the whole flowering plant has a rounded shape. The umbels are compound, without bracts and yellow flowers. The fruits are egg-shaped in outline and laterally compressed.
