Rhizomatous herbaceous perennial up to 70 cm tall thanks to its woody base and erect stems, with densely arranged multicellular or unicellular hairs. It grows in meadows and wet grasslands, forest clearings and thickets, slopes, ditches, sandy areas, both in acidic and basic substrates. Sow in spring or late summer, in rows 25 cm apart.
