They are annual plants, glabrescent. Stems 30-100 cm tall. erect, winged, usually branched in the upper half. Pinnatifid involucral leaves, very acute. Terminal capitula, with more than 5 involucral leaves, gathered in corymbose inflorescence. Involucral bracts lanceolate. Interseminal bracts 3.5-5.5 mm, obtuse. Ligule 14-20 mm, with numerous black hairs. Achenes 3-4 mm, obovate, without pappus. Flowers and fruits from May to June.
