Rounded, fine-textured, 50-70 cm long grass that can reach up to 100 cm in height thanks to the spikes during most of the year. Narrow, narrow, curved leaves and deciduous, although they can be evergreen in mild climates. Ornamental species used in rock gardens and to form dense stands as ground cover. It associates very well in gardening conditions with Nepeta, Achillea, Persicaria.
