PRO DUNAS Marbella

Within the policy of social and environmental responsibility that CANTUESO Natural Seeds has maintained since its origins, we have recently signed a collaboration agreement with the environmental association PRO DUNAS MARBELLA. An association that works in the conservation of biodiversity and dune ecosystems between El Pinillo and Cabopino, east of Marbella, in the province of Malaga, comprising both the Ecological Reserve-Dunes of Marbella and the Natural Monument "Dunas de Artola", covering approx. 500,000 m².

They promote initiatives for environmental volunteering and organize Ecotourism and conservation of dune biodiversity in the Costa del Sol coastline, with the collaboration of schools and develop projects of dune sponsorship, citizen participation and / or companies with programs of eradication of invasive alien species, cleaning and / or reforestation in dune environments. They also collaborate with the Delegation of Agriculture and Sustainable Development of the Junta de Andalucía in conservation work of natural areas and promote the dissemination in the media about the need to preserve ecosystems in dune and marine environments.

They have been awarded by the Junta de Andalucía with the Andalucía Environment Award, recognizing in its XVII edition the participation and defense of environmental values.

Agreement focused on enabling members of this association, knowledge about the use of seeds and native plants for the restoration and conservation of dune and coastal ecosystems, as well as appropriate techniques for the collection of fruits and seeds, both their management and conservation in appropriate conditions and to enable their subsequent use in campaigns and environmental volunteer days carried out by the Association itself. All of these actions are aimed at the dissemination of native flora among the population, and the diversification and increase of Biodiversity in the Costa del Sol coastline through the conservation and increase of the rich diversity of native Mediterranean flora.
