It is a shrubby plant 1 to 2 meters high, with thin, striated, green branches and few leaves. The flower is yellow and papilioned. The fruit is a black hairy legume. As an anti-edematous it is used as a poultice. It lives in areas of scrubland on acid soils. It is endemic to southern Spain.

Technical Information

Planting information:

To facilitate germination:
-By immersion in concentrated sulfuric acid (96%) for 60-90 minutes, thus reaching a germiantion 90%, or by subjecting them to the action of steam.
-Dry heat treatments were applied at 80ºC for 90 minutes and 90ºC for 5 minutes, achieving a germination rate of 70%.
-Scalded for 5 to 10 minutes or let stand in hot water for 24 hours until cool.
Nurserymen prefer hot water immersion, either for 5-10 seconds in boiling water, or put the seeds in boiling water and let them cool with the seeds for up to 24 hours. Germinations of up to 70% are achieved in 15 days.
-Scalded in water for one minute, obtaining good germination, in light from 93% in dark from 100%.
