Perennial herbaceous plant that forms rosettes up to 75 cm high. It is native to South Africa. Indifferent to acid, neutral or basic nature and soil conditions, from sandy to clay. It tolerates soil drought well, as well as wet conditions. Although it blooms in half shade conditions, its maximum splendor is obtained in full sun.
