It is a small shrub, up to 1 meter high, characterized by its thorns. With leaves divided into three leaflets and petiolate, from March to June it presents solitary yellow flowers or in small clusters. Its fruit is legume-shaped and can measure up to 3 cm in length.1 Chromosome number 2n=50.
