The laurel is a shrub or evergreen tree up to 15 meters high, belonging to the laurel family, to which it gives its name. It is native to the Mediterranean area and its leaves are used as a condiment in cooking. It is undemanding in soils, although it does better in loose and fresh soils.

Stratification for 1-2 months at a temperature of 2-4º C is recommended.
