Evergreen shrub, up to 4m high. Leaves opposite or in whorls of 3, simple, lanceolate in outline, entire margin, thick and leathery. White flowers, large and showy, arranged in terminal corymbs. The fruits are formed by 2 elongated follicles 8-16 cm long, with rounded section.
