Evergreen shrub, usually 1 or 2 m high, but can grow up to 4 meters. Bark reddish-brown, shiny. Elongated lanceolate or ovate elliptic leaves 2-4 cm long, leathery with finely toothed edges, dark green on the upper side, initially hairy and pale green on the underside. White flowers, in dense umbelliform inflorescences 3-4 cm in diameter. Abundant orange berries in autumn, borne on mature branches.
