This species reaches about 60 cm in height, forming dense clumps of erect growth, with dark green foliage and finely foliaged similar to the fronds of ferns. The small yellow, orange or bicolor flowers are hermaphrodite and solitary. It has a dense and compact growth. It flowers from mid-spring, early summer, to late fall, depending on the climate.
