This small-sized and delicate-looking garlic species has almost cylindrical or narrowly conical bulbs, up to one and a half centimeters in diameter, from which emerge two to five narrow and keeled leaves, up to thirty centimeters long and three millimeters wide. The flowering stem is up to sixty centimeters high. The spathe has two persistent, unequal leaflets, the largest up to one and a half centimeters long. It flowers between late summer and early autumn, with hemispherical umbels up to three and a half centimeters in diameter, formed by small cup-shaped flowers, white tinged with pink, possessing a sweet fragrance and long exserted stamens. It differs from similar species by the presence of a "sheath" on the bulb, practically not peeled.
