Tree up to 30 m. with a trunk branched only at the top, forming a dense, shallow crown. It grows on sandy or clayey soils, not compact, in plains or mountains of temperate climate from 0 to 1000 m. Its pine cones contain edible seeds (the pine nut). ( 1236 s/kg)
