Perennial plant. It is popularly used as an emmenagogue, carminative, emetic, stimulant and astringent. It grows in meadows, thickets or forest clearings, in areas with high soil moisture, so it usually appears near streams, rivers, ponds or reservoirs, in both acidic and basic areas.
