Annual herb, erect, decumbent or ascending. Leaves alternate, pinnatic compound, basal leaves petiolate, upper leaves sessile, with up to 18 pairs of leaflets; stipules triangular, apex usually purplish. Inflorescence umbelliform, with up to 6 subsentate or shortly pedicellate flowers, bract foliaceous, imparipinnate. Flowers hermaphrodite, zygomorphic, pentamerous. Calyx bilabiate, upper lip bifid, somewhat shorter than lower, lower lip with linear-lanceolate teeth. Corolla papilonaceous, banner panduriform, asymmetrical. Fruit legume lomentaceous, indehiscent, moniliform or torulose, straight or curved; loments up to 6, glabrous or hairy, with promimental veining.
